Internet delivery order and using bar-code medication inventory management

Abstract

|
This quality improvement was performed to reduce medication inventory amount,
administrative time, paperwork, and number of inventory control personnel. For these purpose, medication manag ement system needed to be streamlined. New system included internet delivery order, mobile phone message transfers for delivery order, bar-code scanning for identifying medicine, and on-line work process between hospital and wholesaler. After implementing new system, number of papers and personnel which related to medication inventory management were respectively diminished to 24.1% and 67.1%. Internet delivery order and using bar-code medication inventory management improved convenience, facilitation and precision of medication management process.
